The Late Tom Doolin ...

The members of Mullingar Shamrocks extend their deepest sympathy to the family of the late Tom Doolin, Ginnell Terrace, Mullingar. In particular sympathy is extended to his sons and daughters Des, Dave, Evelyn, Una, Sheila, Sean and Paul and his brothers Kit (Birmingham) and Mick (London). And to his extended family including his son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Tom reposes at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home on Thursday from 3.30pm followed by removal to St. Paul’s Church arriving at 6.30pm. The Funeral Mass takes place on Friday at 12 noon followed by burial in Walshestown Cemetery. Back in the day, Tom enjoyed many a great night in the Mullingar Shamrocks Clubhouse and of course members of the Doolin family have served Mullingar Shamrocks and the GAA with distinction at many levels over the decades. The GAA gene is embedded in the family as back in 1942, eighteen-year-old Tom Doolin was a member of the Milltown team that won the Triple Crown of Westmeath GAA, the Senior Championship, League and Feis Cup. Two of Tom's team colleagues were men who later contributed substantially to the Mullingar Shamrocks cause Peter Lynch and Bill Daly.
