Wednesday last, 29 July was another milestone date in club history continuing a story that began on 15 December 2023 when David Nohilly announced that the club had contracted to purchase 20 acres of land in Robinstown from Kevin and Helen Lynch.
On Wednesday last, Colin Delaney, Midland Sports Surfaces signed the contract for the development of two full sized sand based pitches.
Pitch building is due to commence in the next few weeks with pitches hopefully available for games and training in early 2028.
The club appreciates the work of our Development Committee of Owen Moran, Stephen Corroon, Aidan O’Donoghue and David Bell who have worked closely with Chairperson, David Nohilly and Secretary, Garrett Doyle. The committee’s recommendation was approved by the Executive on 13 July 2026.
The work involved to progress the development to this stage has been phenomenal and the club is fortunate to have such expertise volunteered for the wellbeing of the club, the greater Mullingar community and Westmeathgaaofficial, WestmeathLadies Gaa and Westmeath Camogie (Westmeath Camogie Page).
