Under 17 League Round 2: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-4 Moate All-Whites 0-8.

Our Under -17's had their second outing in the league on Monday evening and unfortunately did not come away with the points on this occasion falling short by a single point away to Moate. Moate started brightly registering the first score but Shamrocks kicked into gear and despite numerous missed chances look the lead with some good scores from Alex Sheerin and Gavin Pierce. A strong Moate side responded well to level up the game and take the lead but a foul on Alex Sheerin resulted in Gavin Pierce finishing the resulting penalty high into the top corner.

The second half was short on scores with both sides missing numerous chances from play and placed balls. The game swung when Shamrocks worked a great goal opportunity and a good Luke McCabe effort was expertly saved with Moate going up the other end to score two points in a row. Shamrocks battled back to level the scores in third minute of injury time but the last attack resulted in a free for Moate which they scored to take the two league points.
