Jim McHugh Memorial Tournament – Under12 Plate Final
A brilliant performance by the boys on Friday evening to take home the silverware in the Garrycastle Tournament final against a well drilled St Brigid’s (Roscommon) team.
Playing against the wind in the first half the boys grew into the game and managed to bag a few goals in quick succession which gave us a lead that we didn't relinquish. We played some lovely flowing football at times and kicked some excellent scores.
The coaching group were delighted for the boys and it was no more than they deserved for all the hard work they've put in over the year on the training ground. It’s been a real squad effort with all the boys playing their part and we should all be very proud of them.
Daniel Brady captained the boys and Huw Keaveney came back to Mullingar with the Player of the Match award in his kit bag.
