ACL Div. 3 Mullingar Shamrocks 0-9 Kilbeggan Shamrocks 0-7

Two valuable ACL Div.3 league points collected in an Arctic St James Park Kilbeggan on Friday night. Points from Efe Siode, Ross Corroon and Andrew Shaw early in the first half gave the Mullingar version of the Shamrocks a lead never subsequently lost despite losing Aaron Purcell early in the game. A Niall Hannigan finish after a wonderful series of passes was probably the score of the night and a great long-range finish by Ross Corroon on the loop secured an interval lead of 0-5 to 0-3 for Mullingar.

Three points in the opening minutes by Ross, John O’Reilly and Brian Farrell were the one’s that mattered and while we managed just one mor3e courtesy of Niall Hannigan we defended well and secured the win. A goal line clearance from Pearse Corroon was crucial and the final tackle by Tomass Turks ended Kilbeggan’s last goal scoring opportunity as Ken Daly blew the final whistle.

Mullingar Shamrocks: Seán Óg Hynes; Niall Hardiman, Aaron Purcell ( Niall Hannigan, 0-2); Marc Eivers; Tomass Turks, Pearse Corroon, John O’Reilly (0-1); Brian Farrell (0-1), Efe Siode (0-1); Ryan Blundell, Andrew Shaw (0-1), Ross Corroon (0-3); Conor Fagan (Gary Corroon), Zach Aherne, Emmet Walsh.
