Coaching Seminar
January is one of the busiest months in any club’s calendar and Shamrocks last Saturday afternoon bore witness to that with our annual club coaching seminar. In previous years the club brought in some of the most highly rated coaching people in the country to guide our club coaches on the right methods to improve our young players. This year was no different in the quality of tutors with one notable exception: the two men tutoring are no strangers to coaching in Springfield. The experienced Niall Williams has a long history of guiding Shamrocks’ teams and coaches over the years and is always obliging when asked to drop in to the club grounds on a Saturday morning. Offaly GDO Liam O’ Reilly is regarded as a key figure in the recent footballing success of the Faithful County and Liam has a vested interest in Shamrocks through his young sons Dylan and Adam who have been wearing the green and white for a few years already. Liam’s knowledge and communication skills have been to the fore in Springfield on Saturday mornings for quite some time. It was brilliant to see almost 50 underage Shamrocks’ coaches in attendance for an informative, fun and worthwhile afternoon. Thanks to Niall and Liam for their time and to the Gingerbread Café for supplying the food to feed the hungry multitudes.
