Minor Football Championship: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-14 St Mary's, Rochfortbridge 3-11.

Another good performance by our minor football team but unfortunately we finished on the wrong side of the scoreline in a history making match- the first in Springfield to be played behind closed doors. Shamrocks trailed at the interval (2-4 to 0-8) with Ollie MacNamara again turning in a superb scoring performance with 0-7 and Ciarán Kiernan also scoring a fine long range point. Shamrocks started well in the second half and a great move ended with Ollie MacNamara scoring our only goal of the evening. Another great move ended with Ollie finishing with a point that sent Shamrocks into a two point lead (2-4 to 1-9). St Mary's regained the lead with a well worked goal but a nice long range point by Conor Fagan levelled matters (3-4 to 1-10). Unfortunately, in the final quarter Shamrocks were outscored 0-7 to 0-4 and the boys from the 'Bridge collected the championship points.
