Jordan Warde sets a high standard in the Participate and Donate Stakes ...

So it's twelve months since you did serious damage to your knee and the injury was so severe that your 2019 football season was virtually wiped out. A soul destroying experience for a young man who had a glorious season in 2018 and who played a key role in Mullingar Shamrocks winning the senior championship.

The recovery has been slow and painful but the knee has finally mended and the player celebrated by running 100K in this lockdown month of April.

Jordan Warde is the player concerned and Jordan has shown his civic spirit by donating to the Mullingar Shamrocks GoFundMe campaign with the Heroes Aid and Pieta House the chosen beneficiaries.

Jordan has set the standard and tomorrow Sunday 3 May is the day of destiny when the friends and family of Mullingar Shamrocks will endeavour to run, walk or cycle 500km in a day in aid of Heroes Aid (PPE to protect Ireland's frontline workers) and Pieta House.

Well done to Kieran Gavin and Ritchie Daly for their organisational input; the original plan was to contribute to the Di It For Dan Trust but as this campaign has reached its intended target it was decided to support Heroes Aid and Pieta House.

The target is to cover 500Km and raise €3000 for the chosen charitable causes. And the good news is that we are over halfway past the target.

So let's get out tomorrow, run walk or cycle and tag us or DM so we can track the progress to the 500Km mark.
