GOAL MILE on Christmas Morning ...

A Christmas tradition will be maintained on Christmas morning when the annual GOAL MILE will be staged in our grounds between 10.30 and 12.00.

You know the story, come along work up a bit of an appetite with a gentle bit of exercise and make a donation to the worthy cause.

The 39th edition of the event, which raises funds for GOAL’s programmes in the developing world, will take place at more than 100 venues in cities, towns and villages across the country.

Participants run or walk a mile and make a donation to the charity and since the inception of the GOAL mile, millions of euro have been raised. Deeply moved by the plight of street children he encountered on a trip to Kolkata (Calcutta), John O’Shea founded GOAL in 1977, and throughout the 42 years since its foundation, GOAL has responded to almost all of the world’s major humanitarian crises since, working with vulnerable communities in more than 60 countries.
