Under-16 Girls depart the championship ...

A wet Tuesday evening in Milltownpass was made even more miserable when our Under-16 LGFA exited the championship at the quarter final stage with a defeat to the home team whose ability to score from distance ended our hopes of victory. Shamrocks started brightly with a great team goal but as has been the case for the season we started to lose control of the game and every error seemed to be punished with a score by the Milltownpass girls. The girls battled right to the end but unfortunately they came up short against a fitter and hungrier home team. A break of six weeks between games certainly didn't help our cause in what has been a very stop-start type of season that began back in March and included long term injuries and absence of a number of key players. The coaching team of Eric, Debbie and Kieran would like to thank the girls for their hard work and dedication over the season and also to the Under-14 girls that stepped up when called upon and did an impressive job.
