ACL Div. 3: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-7 St Malachy's 2-10

No joy for Mullingar Shamrocks in this Sunday morning ACL Div. 3 match against a strong St Malachy's side. Benefitting from a strong wind, St Malachy's were deserving of their 1-9 to 0-3 interval lead. It might have been more as poor finishing reduced the score board impact of the first half dominance. Dean McDermott caused problems for the Shamrocks defence and his goal minutes before the interval proved to be important. Ross Corroon kicked three points for Shamrocks. A second Malachy's goal shortly after the restart guaranteed the victory but Shamrocks finished strongly and were rewarded with a good goal by Brendan O'Reilly and a few points by Ross Corroon (0-2) , Kenneth O'Reilly and Ryan Blundell put a respectable look on the scoreboard. The positives included some great fielding by Adam McCormack and great all-round displays from Jack Kelly and Billy Flynn. Mullingar Shamrocks: Killian White; Eamonn Breslin (Cormac Murphy), James Grogan (Kenneth O'Reilly, 0-1), Mark Butler; Jack Kelly, Marc Eivers, Ryan Blundell (0-1); Adam McCormack (Gary Shaw), Nathan Smith (James Shaw); Tye Adamson (Brendan O'Reilly,1-0), Billy Flynn, Dillon Matthews (Gary Corroon); Pearse Corroon, Ross Corroon (0-5), Pádraic McKenna.
