Coaching Conference ...

Saturday 23 February saw Mullingar Shamrocks hold their first coaching conference in Springfield. Over 40 club coaches attended the three hour coaching initiative and it’s fair to say that the day was a marvellous success. The club’s underage committee, ably assisted by the expertise of Niall Williams, managed to secure the highly vaunted services of three of the country’s top coaches, Stephen Behan, Steven Poacher and Shane Caulfield. Their expertise, variety of coaching methods and ability to make each session fun ensured a truly memorable and educational experience for everyone present. The three coaching sessions were followed by a question and answer session that was enjoyed by all and the legendary Shamrocks’ hospitality ensured a very satisfactory end to a great day. Thanks to the visiting coaches for their time and help and thanks to the 43 Shamrocks’ club coaches whose enthusiasm and participation was a major part of the day’s success. A word of appreciation for the boys’ under 10 squad and the girls’ under 16 squad who participated in the various drills.
