The Aussies are coming on Thursday ...

On Thursday next, 3 January, a bit of history will be created in Springfield when Mullingar Shamrocks play host to the visiting Australian Wanderers touring girls Aussie Rules football team with ages ranging from 14 to 17. A Mullingar Shamrocks team of the same age group will provide the opposition in a match in which both sets of rules and ball shapes will be used at different stages.

In preperation for the international occasion our girls got in some training on Sunday.

The throw in is at 2.30 and all are welcome.

After the match the legendary Mullingar Shamrocks hospitality will be unveiled once again, some presentation of under-age medals will take place and our visitors will be presented with souvenirs of the occasion.

The club would like to thank the families who will play host to the girls on their visit to Mullingar.
