Anna and Shane ...

Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling when Anna Gavin and Shane Maher take the stage to dance their Viennese Waltz to the music of That’s Amore at the Park Hotel on 12 May. Shane is on loan from Ballinacarrigy for the occasion and is familiar to the GAA and the Ladies Gaelic Football community in Westmeath for his refereeing skills. Shane will be making his stage debut on this occasion. His dancing partner, Anna Gavin has a passion for dancing and when she saw the advertisement for Strictly Shamrocks, Anna was an immediate volunteer. Anna, the proprietor of ON CLOUD NINE CRÈCHE, Mullingar, is a member of a family with a long association with the GAA and Mullingar Shamrocks and Anna has participated in a variety of club activities ranging from 5K runs to The Cube. We mustn’t forget that Anna’s daughter Aoife was a member of the Mullingar Shamrocks All-Ireland title winning Scór na nÓg Ballad group in 2006 (the only Gavin with an All-Ireland medal?).

 Anna is a past member of the Mullingar Charity Variety Group and is currently a member of Mullingar Choral Society. Strictly Shamrocks sponsored by The Fence takes place in the Park Hotel on 12 May and tickets are available at www.mullingarhsamrocksgaa.com
