ACL Div.1: Garrycastle 0-9 Mullingar Shamrocks 1-5 

Played in dreadful conditions, Mullingar Shamrocks were unlucky to depart from Garrycastle with nothing to show  for what was a very positive display. Seriously understrength because of injuries (long-term and short-term), travel and the inter-county quarantine requirements, a trio of converted Garrycastle frees proved to be the vital scores on the night of wind and rain. Eoin Doran’s restarts were good, Dillon Matthews scored ‘a cracker of a goal’ and Nathan Smith and Ciaran Kiernan ‘worked ridiculously hard at midfield and were good throughout’ according to the Shamrocks observer at the match.
