Mullingar Shamrocks are delighted to announce the appointment of David Martin as the club’s Senior manager for the 2026 season. A former Maryland player, David has represented Westmeath at all levels and was a member of the Westmeath All-Ireland champion Minor team of 1995. 

David has considerable coaching experience having worked with Damien Gavin with the Westmeath Under-20 team for six years and has been the TUS coach for the past five years during which time the college retained its Division 1 status and with it a place in the Sigerson Cup competition.  David also led Legan Sarsfields to the 2021 Longford Junior county tile and has been manager of Milltownpass for the past three years. David will be joined by Kevin Burke (Milltownpass) as a coach and looks forward to getting stuck into the task as he works on completing his management team.

The club wish to thank Micheál Burke and his management team for their great work in 2025 and Micheál for his work as selector with Enda Monaghan in previous years. Work commitments have prevented his continuance in the managerial role. Micheál was a superb coach with incredible dedication and attention to detail and he leaves the Senior setup in a very good place with the excellent assistance of his coaches, selectors, and backroom team.
