It was said at the AGM … where the mood was impressively positive.
‘The plans represent the most significant development since the foundation of the club and will require significant input financially and from the volunteer perspective. Managing the club is a significant operation and is only going to get bigger’, David Nohilly, Chairperson, Mullingar Shamrocks.
‘The annual cost of running the club is now in the region of €330,000’, David Coghlan, Mullingar Shamrocks, Club Treasurer.
‘That €373, 000 was donated to Mullingar Shamrocks to help fund the new development was a phenomenal figure and immense credit is due to the small committee that drove this’, David Coghlan, Mullingar Shamrocks, Club Treasurer.
‘We are very lucky to have the range of expertise within the club who were prepared to volunteer and invest their time without any cost to the club – David Nohilly, Chairperson, Mullingar Shamrocks.
‘In view of the challenges ahead, we need to be a little more selfish with our fundraising activities going forward’, Garrett Doyle, Secretary, Mullingar Shamrocks.
‘This was a phenomenal year for the club with a phenomenal number of people involved in coaching. I thank everyone for making the underage section the success it is’, Pat Collins, Secretary, Under-age Committee.
‘Goodwill is phenomenal for Mullingar Shamrocks in this town and this was particularly evident before the recent county finals with support coming forward without being asked. We need to recognise this goodwill and return the favour by shopping local’, Pat Collins, Secretary, Under-Age Committee.
‘It was unprecedented in the history of the club the amount of work put in by the management team led by Derek Sheridan. They developed the closest and tightest group of players I have seen in my time in the club and I have no doubt many will represent the club and county in the future’, Pat Collins, Secretary, Under-Age Committee.
‘We’ve got players from Los Angeles, South Africa, Latvia, Spain, Scotland, Wales, England and practically every county in Ireland. It’s a wonderful way of meeting new people and great fun’, Anne Ryan, Gaelic4Mothers and Others.
