Adrian Keaveney elevated to the Vice-Chairman's seat ...

The recent burst of activity and publicity associated with our On the Ball and other club events deflected attention from an important change at executive level in the club. At our January executive meeting Vice-Chairman Ned Moore vacated his position to devote all his energies to restoring our flagging fortunes at senior level.  As a result, Adrian Keaveney was appointed to the vacancy created following Ned’s decision to step down.

Adrian has a life-long association with the club and his substantial contribution to the 2000 senior county final victory against Tyrrellspass, as a half-time substitute, has never been forgotten. On the previous day, Adrian had performed heroics against St Paul’s to secure the club’s intermediate status for 2001. (God! County champions in 2001 and our second team competing at intermediate level!!). Adrian is no stranger to football management and was the one in charge in 2013 when Mullingar Shamrocks captured the junior county title. He was also a key-man in organising the club’s Galway-Mullingar Sponsored Cycle in 2011 which raised substantial funds for the development of the Mullingar Shamrocks Fitness Centre.

Adrian is wished the best in his role in one of the big chairs in the club’s management structure.
